Workers Compensation Advocate paralegal, Robert Govaert, is licensed by the Law Society of Ontario and is a member of the Ontario Paralegal Association. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree and he gained industry experience in manufacturing, retail and food services. Robert was hired by a legal clinic in Toronto, Ontario, and established Workers Compensation Advocate in 1996.
Robert has knowledge and experience of WSIB best practices, claims management, Early and Safe Return-to-Work, Workwell Audits, Second Injury Enhancement Fund (SIEF), Transfer of Costs, and he has knowledge of the rights and obligations of both the injured worker and the employer. Robert's primary area of practice is related to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), previously called Workers' Compensation Board (WCB), and he proceeds at all stages of the appeal, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT). Robert has helped many client's receive Canada Pension Plan (CPP) disability benefits and proceed with appeals to the Social Security Tribunal (SST). Most of his work comes from referrals from clients who are pleased with the outcome of their claims and referrals from family doctors, chiropractors, physiotherapists, lawyers, paralegals, and unions.
